User reviews on Belton Cinema 8
great place and the concession workers have always been very freindly and prompt. we used to drive to lees summit but no longer. im really surprised at the above reviews i think the new owners have done an outstanding job at turning the place around. i have seen the movie police mentioned above and ive seen them remove kids who were acting up which i thought was great. i like the home town feeling i get up there and see no need for a big chain to move in but maybe ive just been lucky.
Used to go to the theatre when it was d***enson and had no problems other then broken seats.. But now after paying close to $50 dollars for the movie and snacks we were interuped several times cause my husband laid down in the seats once! Didnt know that was even illegal We are in our 30s and have never had a problem at any other theatre for him put the arms up and laying across the seats. However he was told twice in a rude manner to sit up the first time and then every 15 mins after that the guy returned to make sure he was not laying down again the last time he came in he came in with a police officer.. I have never felt more like criminals in my life and I actually paid to feel that way! Needless to say Im afraid they did all those nice repairs for no reason cause we will not be returning to that theatre
I love this theatre. It's clean, comfortable and very reasonable.
Everyone that I know that has been there feels the same way.
Belton is lucky to have a theatre like this.
I guess if you want to bring in your own food you should go to a drive In.
I took my son and his friend to a movie for his 13th B-Day. The theatre does not carry his favorite candy and only has Pepsi Products. We brought in a Coke and a box of Candy. We were asked to leave. The Shift Manager said that they do not need our business and that concessions is how they make their money. I spent almost $20 on the tickets and would have maybe spent $12 on concessions. They are willing to give up ticket sales at this theatre for the sake of concessions. Also--the manager was very unprofessional and very sloppy! I hope a General Manager of Owner reads this and takes note. I live in the area and cannot see a movie confortably. I go to AMC and never get hasseled. Please mellow out and your ticket sales and concessions will go up. This place is being policed like the airport----trying to find candy and sodas--several theatres dropped their prices and are handing out free popcorn--they get it!!!!
TERRIBLE, AWFUL, DON'T GO!!!
General admission is only $5 at AMC if you go before noon on Saturday's & Sunday's-I'd much rather make the drive to go there rather than to go to this theater again, and I live in Raymore.
Although my son and I did watch the movie, we were interrupted several times by the what was so eloquently posted earlier "the movie police". This guy went around with his flashflight, looking for candy and drinks that were not sold by the theater and taking them away from people, instead of using that handy flashflight to help people find seats. I had two seats right by me, but because it was dark and the movie started and I was as far over as you could possibly get and as high up as the seats took you nobody could see those seats. The staff was very impersonable and it made my experience bad. I won't go back to this theater again, even though I was able to have a seat with my son on my lap.. Just because it's a great location, doesn't mean it's going to be the best experience.
HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. Went to see the Lorax and they oversold tickets. Claimed there were 20 seats left HOWEVER, they don't even count the kids that get in free. It's a kid movie so most of the audience were kids and who knows how many got in free entitled to their own seat. There was literally 1 seat to be found for myself and 2 kids. This was a seat by the wheelchair area which a folding chair could have been easily placed but was denied b/c it would be against fire code. How is a folding chair any different than if a person in a wheelchair were sitting there?!?! The customer service here is pathetic. Despite overselling they had no desire to accommodate us other than giving a refund. As I'm dealing with this the kids have watched the first part of the movie and I wasn't about to make them leave. So I left them there alone reluctantly and got a refund for my ticket (after the manager tried insisting they still had 17 seats available). When I pick the kids up they tell me that someone took their candy away because they didn't have a parent with them! Based on the comment above, I don't know why anyone would want to see a movie here and have staff lurking over their shoulder to make sure you aren't breaking their rules. I am extremely disappointed in our entire experience and will NEVER go to this theater again. Despite living in Belton, I will drive out of my way to go to any other theater. The only thing this place has going is the remodel. Instead of worrying about people texting or sneaking in food, maybe they can work on their people skills and taking a head count of the children that get in free so everyone has a seat. I usually don't write reviews unless I'm overly impressed with something/someone or so appalled I think everyone else should be informed. If you do choose to go to this theater, I sure hope they treat you better than they did us. But don't count on it!
I would rather give this a -5 star! This place was just remodeled and looks nice but looks are deceiving. Before remodeling the theater was just a hole in the wall with very few employees. I remember an instance where the guy that I bought my tickets from then sold me popcorn and then went up and started the movie. I went today spent $53 for 2 adults and 3 children to see "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in 3D” They had no children’s glasses so the kids had to hold their glasses on their face the whole movie. The movie time was supposed to start at 2:25 we walked into the theater at exactly 2:25 and the movie was already well under way. I went to let the theater personnel know this and he said there was 2 minutes of trailers. I bought the Jumbo Popcorn with the two drinks, all of which is entitled a refill. The 3 kids shared a jumbo root beer but so they wouldn't have to drink after each other we brought in 3 empty cups. We also brought in 3 empty zip lock sandwich bags. The bags it can be hard to share popcorn when you’re sitting 5 people away from each other. They have what a friend of mine called the texting police; just a theater employee that comes in to make sure no one is breaking the rules. I had an aisle seat and this person came up and stood next to where I was sitting and 3 times during the movie for over 5 minutes each time. The third time he told us our kids had popcorn in bags that they don't sell and that we have cups of liquid that they would have to go pour out. The disturbance was so bad that my fiancé finally asked that the employee would go into the theater hall to discuss this further. She showed him that we had 2 jumbo drinks and popcorn and we was just sharing it, so he finally said it was ok. No apology though. We went to get our first drink refill and everything was fine but when we went to get the kids drink refill the worker refused to refill it at first stating that she had just did our refill we explained that it was a different drink for the kids. We felt like they were trying to make us out like liars. I don’t recommend going to this theater. The service is really bad, the popcorn is not good and they only serve Pepsi products, no Coke. My family will not return to this theater. When is Belton going to get an AMC?
